Gaming on AmigaOS 4.1: Open Sonic (IamSONIC / Alexandre Martins)

Hi there and thanks for visiting my blog. πŸ™‚

It is Sunday today and a nice opportunity to fire up AmigaOS 4.1 for some gaming. Decided to try the game Open Sonic, which is available for free at OS4Depot.

Don’t know where to start? The game has a tutorial mode, which makes it easy to learn the different mechanics.

I must say that I was very impressed by this one, beautiful graphics, nice music and sound effects, as well as good overall playability. The game has a tutorial mode as well, so that you can get familiar with all the different mechanics. Having three different characters you can switch between was a bit new to me, but I quickly got used to it. Sometimes there are switches you must place one character on, so that a door opens and the others can get through, or you need to fly a specific place, which only one of them can do. Nice!

I also recorded a video of the gaming running and uploaded it to YouTube. You can watch it here if you want:

A video of Open Sonic in action!

If you want to try a platform game on AmigaOS 4, I can highly recommend you giving this one a go. πŸ™‚ Excellent stuff!

Before I stop writing, I’d like to thank you for all of the positive feedback I’ve received after publishing the AmigaOS 4.1 Monthly Roundup last Monday. Much appreciated! Thanks everyone! πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading and see you in another post here on Gaming on AmigaOS 4!
