First of all I’d like to thank you for popping by the Gaming on AmigaOS 4 blog and checking out this review of Titrus. I was not expecting to be back in the saddle when it comes to AmigaOS 4 for quite some time, if ever, but the enthusiasm came back after the Revision Online demo party this year. We in Void competed in several competitions during the event and it was a lot of fun! After it was over, we made a new issue of Feedback for AmigaOS 4 as well. If you’re interested in checking it out, you can find it here.
Since it’s been a while since I wrote a game review for this platform, I thought I’d jump right in and check out a puzzle game called Titrus. This one was developed by Splashouille and ported to AmigaOS 4 by HunoPPC in 2015. As the name of the game implies, it is very similar to Tetris. 😉
The game can be downloaded from OS4Depot by click on the link below:
The archive takes up about 8 MB of space, so it is pretty small.
To install the game, locate your download, right-click on it with your mouse and select “extract to”. Then choose the destination. After that, navigate to the drawer and double-click on the appropriate icon and the game will start up automatically.
If you have played Tetris or seen it in action, you will know right away what kind of game Titrus is. Just like in Tetris, there are blocks of various shapes falling down towards the bottom of the screen and you have to organize them in a way so they fill up whole lines. This will make them disappear and leave more room for new blocks to appear. The aim of the game is to continue as long as possible doing this and get the highest score.
Let us see the game in action:
So, how did the game play?
I must say that if you are looking for a stylish Tetris type game for AmigaOS 4, you can’t go wrong with this one. It has nice graphics (see screenshots) with animated backgrounds, suitable background music and it is easy to play with the keyboard. It is also free to download. Plays fine in a window on your AmigaOS 4 desktop too! If you haven’t tried it yet and you are looking for a relaxing puzzle game, I recommend giving this one a shot. 🙂
That was all for this time. Hope you have enjoyed the review!
Take care and see you in another post here on this blog!
